Who's Designing Your System? You, or Your Agent?

Ask an agent to build a feature and you'll get back working code. But you'll also get back a bunch of design decisions it never mentioned. Accept enough of these without noticing and you'll slowly end up maintaining a system you didn't design. We'll look at how to spot these decisions in the code an agent hands you, and how to write your design rules down so it actually sticks to them.

  • Understand the design decisions your agent made, especially the ones it didn't mention
  • Get your forbidden patterns into your project rules, so the agent has no choice but to follow them
  • Learn the telltale signs of an agent over-engineering, and where to go from there
  • Use a second agent to critique the design, and work out which suggestions are worth taking
